Greg! I'm reading an amazing fantasy novel right now called Lies of Locke Lamora to preemptively fill the void GoT will leave behind…and they have the most outrageous recipe for a cocktail I'd love to see your take on…

Chapter 2: Second Touch at the Teeth Show

    Cocktail: Ginger Scald
    Glass: Tall crystal wine flute
    Ingredients:
-Two fingers purest Camori ginger oil (the color of scorched cinnamon for reference)
-a "sizable splash" of milky Pear Brandy
-a transparent heavy liquor called "Agento" (it is described as a cooking wine flavored with radishes…)
-when mixed, plunge in a very hot, slender metal rod that has been sitting in a covered brazier
-once cooled, stir briskly exactly three times
-present beverage on a thin silver plate

You should check both the drink and the Gentlemen Bastard series out!

My favorite behind-the-scenes story from 'The Public Enemy:' In one scene, Cagney & the guy playing his best friend are walking down the street, when they notice a car following them. They manage to just barely make it around the corner before a Tommy gun opens up at them; the corner of the building that they run around explodes with bullets just as they run past it.

Do you know how they acheived that 'effect?' They hired an Army sharpshooter, who fired an ACTUAL Thompson submachine gun at them. Live bullets. Fired at actors. Madness!

He was pretty tough to take out 10 gangsters alone, shot in the head and makes it down the street before collapsing in the gutter down the street!

Just FYI, according to Wikipedia, The Public Enemy was Cagney's seventh film. And are there any two words that sound better together than "breakfast drink?"

Think a nice smoky bourbon. Like trails end or 2 bar over proof black edition. You get sweet and punch from the booze.

How do you get your ginger to peel so perfectly? I can never get it to peel. Do I have to mumble to it first?

Great Video. Just a quick question. When you started shaking this drink, you startet slow and increased the speed. Was there any reason for that?
