    Made this with spicy Italian sausage, peppers, mushrooms and onions.
    Also made a Mexican version with chorizo or taco meat.
    Or added jalapenos to the original recipe. All were good, easy versatile recipe. Thank you.

    Hey Laura…Just made this recipe with a twist. I decided to take a chance, cut the bread into cubes, and made croutons to spread on bottom of pan. Was unexpectedly delicious. Enjoy your simple, delicious, and easy recipes. I've used quite a few (meatloaf is sooooo good) of your recipes. Thanks for all the help in the kitchen…GW

    Have you considered omitting the sausage, bake as suggested, only top the casserole with crispy bacon

    2:50 a.m. i've been drinking, and I just put this all together. Waiting on the oven to hit 350. I didnt have mustard so diced up tiny pieces of the bacon I cooked earlier the used the machine thingie to whip it all into nothingness bit liquid. Excited! Thank you so much!!

    I would have to put a cover over the dish while baking,to keep the cheese fro drying out,or maybe put the cheese in the last 10 minutes of baking..
