I'm a weirdo that likes chewy, thin bacon. That looks sandwich perfect to me.

Great video! I probably would have hydrated the eggs with milk instead of water.

I've been living in New Zealand (whither I moved from Massachusetts) for over 11 years and have not seen canned butter, though I live in the capital city. Maybe it's a rural thing.

Lovely and educational presentation, Emmy, with two exceptions.  You referred to Velveeta as cheese.  It is not even food, much less cheese.  It is fish bait.  And you insulted SPAM, the all-American all-purpose meat.  ;^)

The bread from the mre's were pretty bad when I was in the Army. If you got the bacon cheese spread it was a bit more tolerable.

I haven't looked at all the comments, and the link for bread in the can is taking me somewhere else so… has anyone mentioned B&M Brown Bread in a can? My dad LOVED that stuff. I comes plain, or with raisins and can still be found on their website. 🙂

    Love you vids, Emmy!

I lived in Japan for a year, and we had canned Hokkiado butter (Meiji brand, I think) almost every day. Hokkaido has a lot of dairy farms.

You are so marvelous to watch/listen to … beautiful and earthy ,,, mmmmm! And abother shelf life item to add would be Parmalat milk, which you can keep for months w/o refrigeration, and it's 100% milk, whole or skim, with np additives and great creamy taste! Try it!

Got a laugh with the canned bacon. I buy it all time at the store in nome Alaska. It common to find in rural Alaskan stores. Same with canned butter, canned whole milk and yes canned bread both white and wheat. Found canned fruitcakes , cake and powered eggs as well. A lot of rural cabins like mine no electricity so can't refrigerate. Not 20 bucks but more like 15-17.

Pleasant Hill Grain carried all that stuff, I was buying Yoders canned bacon by the case for like 12 dollars a can. All pre cooked, but each can varies on the amount inside, just rap some in a paper towel, stick in microwave for 20, 30 sec. and eat away.

Mix fresh eggs no oil or butter no dairy fry plain in a Teflon pan. When done break up eggs and place in a dehydrator or low heat in oven overnight. Most grocery stores on Sunday before closing put their eggs on sale.

Have you ever tried putting cheese in your eggs? It makes it taste better, you put the cheese in while you are cooking the eggs

Thanks for this video! You saved me some expensive taste testing. Sounds like the best results might come from heating all the items up if you can. TBH, I think I could buy a lot of ham and SPAM for the price of that bacon — and make some fry bread. 😉
