It is a dry vegetable dish made with cabbage. The word ‘Foogath’ is the generic name for the vegetable dry side dishes served at lunch time.

Ingredients Required To Make This:
1 tbsp Oil
1 cup of shredded cabbage
1 tbsp dhana dal
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 green chillies
2 tbsp freshly grated coconut
Coriander leaves – for garnishing
Salt to taste
Heat oil in a pan. Heat it properly
Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
Add curry leaves, slices of green chilies and chana dal. Cook for a minute.
Add salt to taste.
Add shredded cabbage and mix well.
Switch off heat, add finely chopped coriander & grated coconut. Mix well.
You can serve this with chapati or malabari parathas.
